I did this charity poster artwork for Sarge's Animal Rescue Foundation 12th annual Dog Walk, which is coming up on Saturday, August 5th. The rescue is dedicated to saving and placing lost and abandoned pets in Haywood County, North Carolina. All proceeds from the Dog Walk benefit the shelter. I know it is a "dog" walk, but I had to sneak a kitten in there. How else would you keep all of the dogs organized? ;)
A great talent gone far too soon. Peace to his family, friends and fans.
Last year I was approached by rock illustrator, Mark Rudolph, to contribute to "Metal Gods: a Tribute to Judas Priest" coming out next month by Decibel Books. I've been a fan of Mark's work for a while- he has done A LOT of cool stuff. Plus, I grew up listening to heavy music, Judas Priest included, due to being the youngest 3 loud music loving kids. The book is an collaboration choc a bloc full of illustrations from many talented artists and I can't wait to see it in person.
Here are my two contributions to the book. I got to draw the Metal God himself, Rob Halford. I was asked to do a portrait of him as well as one of the band during a the very spikey and leatheryperiod of their career. It was so much fun and I'm proud to be a part of it. You can pre order the book through Decibel Books here.
I'm very excited to share this: I had the HUGE honor to create portrait illustrations for the contributor page of this month's issue of Smithsonian Magazine. You can see my portraits of author, Tony Perrottet, artist, Haisam Hussain and photographer Gina LaVey. Scroll down to see close ups of the artwork.
Here's a cute illustration that I just did for the April issue of Main Line today. The article is about Maryland Blue Crab crab season which begins in late April.
